Headed Home

Well, my visit to Virginia is winding down. The last night Grandad Gator took Granma (aka MeMe), Mom and me to dinner at Red Hot and Blue. I got some of Granma's great chicken and everyone else had barbeque. Must have been good. Gator did give me some of his corn bread, boy was that delicious. No offense Mom, but I had a great time with Gator and MeMe.
Mom also got to see her good friend Susan. Susan's birthday is coming up so we celebrated. By the way for all my uncles out there, Granma (aka MeMe) has a birthday on Friday. Thought you might like to have friendly reminder.

Here we are getting ready to saddle up for the trip to the airport to drop Mom and me off for our flight home. Gus was pretty much on his best behavior while I was here. He is a funny dog and he barks loud. I liked pulling on his hair. I guess he understood that I didn't know better, because he let me do it.Well, Granma (aka Meme), I am going to miss your good and your inventive cooking. Granma swears I grew while I was here and as you see I didn't miss any meals. I enjoyed everyone, even the one with asparagus. Here I am with Gator. Not sure what you have going on with your hair there Granpa. it sorta reminds me of mine only yours is a lot grayer. I am also not sure why you are smiling so much. You are going to miss me aren't you? I had a great time and I'll remember what you told me, "What happens in Vienna, stays in Vienna."Here we are before eveyone started crying. When you see me next time I suspect I will be close to walking, so be prepared. Here I am in by public conveyance at the airport. We got the bags checked in okay, but Mom still looked like a porter with all the stuff she was carrying for me. You should have seen us when we got to California. Mom said we looked just like Laurel and Hardy getting me and the bags on the shuttle and getting across the parking lot to our car. I don't know who Laurel and Hardy are, but they sure must be funny, because it was quite a finale to a great trip. Granpa and Granma, I can't wait for my next visit to Virginia.

PS - Gator also taught me some acronyms that I might be able to use in the future. One is "VIT", which stands for me - 'very important Thomas', and the other is "OTT", which stands for "over-the-top", such as Granma MeMe is OTT. Well, thanks again, and I hope you're having a great day. I am.

I would also like to congratulate my cousin Zach who is graduating from US Marine Corps Boot Camp this week. We certainly are proud of him and I can't wait until I grow up and can become a Marine like my Dad, Uncle and Cousin. Sorry, Mom, I think it is in the blood. Love, Thomas

Mother's Day

Well, this is for my Uncle Seth. I am still here in Virginia having a grand time with Gator and Granma (aka Mimi).

We celebrated Mother's day on Sunday. Here is Mom opening my gift. I had help picking out the perfect card and jewelry for my Mom. My Dad called on Saturday to wish my Mom a happy Mother's Day. Way to go Dad. Mom was in great spirits and we had a great weekend.

Grandad Gator took Mom, Granma and me to brunch at the Sheraton. We had a great time and I got to do my favorite thing, eat.

Sunday evening, Aunt Mary and Uncle (Gen) Mike came over for dinner and brought Grumpa. What a funny guy; he made me laugh. I don't see why everyone calls him Grumpa. He was in great spirits.
Everyone pitched in preparing dinner and we had a lot of fun. Uncle Mike had only gotten home from Baghdad Friday night, but he didn't look tired.
Now we are into the final week. Mom, Gator and Granma have been sharing my time between their work hours. Mom even worked at the office and got to see her old friends. Unfortunately, tomorrow Mom and I have to leave. I suspect Rudy is getting lonely for us and I need to get back and see my friends and tell them what a good time I had.

Well, I am at my Grandma Jane's house and she has me all to herself. Hey Dad, Grandma (aka Mimi) is teaching me to cook. She handed me a wisk and I do what I always do when I get something new, I put it in my mouth. Grandma, could we mix up a batch of cookies with this wisk thing so it would taste better? Anyway, I just love playing in the kitchen with Grandma.

I also got to meet Aunt Mary. She is Grandma Jane's best friend. She is so funny she makes me laugh.

Well, after spending dinner with my Grandma Jane and Aunt Mary, I will attest to the fact they are both crazy.

Having a great time here in Virginia. Love, Thomas

Headed to Virginia to stay with Grandparents

Mom and me are headed to Virginia so I can stay with Gator and Mimi (I am not sure I have gotten used to calling Grandma Jane 'Mimi', yet, but I am starting to put sounds together to make words and I bet I'll be calling her something by the time me and Mom head back to sunny California. Good luck on the 'Mimi', Grandma Jane). Anyway, I get to stay a few days with Gator and aka Mimi while my Mom goes on a business trip.

Gus, that's my grandparents dog, says he is getting all ready for me and promises to be on his best behavior, or at least that is what Gator says Gus is saying. Anyway, Gus has had a hair cut and bath and can't wait for me to get there. It should be an experience.

I also see that Grandma Jane (aka Mimi) has been busy picking up a few things for my visit. She even got a tri-cycle. A tri-cycle Grandma? I guess she is expecting me to visit often. Anyway, we should all have a great fun and I can't wait to get there.

I am having such a great day and I hope you are too.
